The September EPX Marketing and Events Committee meeting will be held on Monday, September 27 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Everyone, especially NEW MEMBERS, are welcome.

The meeting will be held at the EPX Office 1940 S. 13th Street.

This school year ended a little richer for several students film makes at Ss. John Neumann and Maria Goretti High School!

The third, and final, component of the EPXStories project, which started in the spring of 2009, came to a close with the awarding of the $500 prize this summer. The stories, written as film scripts, dealt with topics ranging from the closing of the Naval Ship Yard, to the colorful personalities from South Philly’s rakish past. But the winning entry had our burgeoning movie makers writing about the local celebrities from the area. Look to our web page, in the very near future, for a link to the full scripts including the winner.

The June EPX Marketing and Events Committee meeting will be held on Monday, June 28 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Visit the new pocket park at the Gateway to East Passyunk Avenue at Passyunk, McKean and Broad, to see the latest Mural Arts project “River to River!” EPX, along with several governmental agencies, and the EPA BID severed as sponsors and donors for this beautiful tile and glass mural that adorns the low-wall at the north end of the new gateway pocket park.  Artists Mike Smash, Jonny Buss and Colleen Kane took inspiration from Native American chevron patterns in the pavement of the gateway’s street-scape. EPX was largely responsible for the suggestion of the color scheme and the securing of TruMark Credit Union’s commitment to having the mural on their property. Arts alive and thriving in EPX!
