EPX and Combined Civics vet Zoning for FELS Center

Please be advised that a public meeting will be held to discuss the

Philadelphia Performing Arts Charter School which is requesting a zoning SPECIAL EXCEPTION related to their pending purchase of the FELS Community Center building. Members of the Combined South Philadelphia Civic Association Alliance will welcome neighbors on THURSDAY, MAY 10th @ 7:00pm IN METHODIST HOSPITAL.

A panel of EPX, LoMo, SBSNA and SPCCA representatives will chair this combined zoning meeting.

Renee Gilinger, Executive Director of the East Passyunk Avenue Business Improvement District, will be on hand to update neighbors on the Avenue’s comings and goings! She will also have tickets for the Flavors of the Avenue event scheduled for Saturday April 28th.

EPX April Planning-Zoning Meeting

The April EPX Zoning/Planning Committee meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 25th from 7:00 to 8:30 PM.

AGENDA:

INFORMATIONAL ONLY: 1646-8 S 12th. Use as restaurant with liquor license and proposed outdoor seating.

2000 S 10TH ST: Legalization of second floor and convenience store signage.

2008-10 S 8th: Combination of lot lines to create three story structure for use as six dwelling units.

1146 MCKEAN ST: Eat-in and take-out cafe; creation of two 2 bedroom apartments above.

1919 E Passyunk Ave: Legalization of entire space as restaurant, legalization of take out service, and addition of live entertainment and dancing.

The meeting will be held at the EPX CENTER 1729 S. 11th Street, on the campus of Ss. John Neumann-Maria Goretti High School. (Previously the Convent of the Sisters of St. Joseph)

The EPX CENTER is the middle building of the three located just north of the main school.

2012 Spring Tree Planting

Want to learn how to plant a tree? If so come and EPX will teach you. We will be planting
many street trees through out the South Philly neighborhood. It is a great event and we can directly
see the results!! So please come an join us, we always need volunteers and tree tenders.

What: EPX and LOMO’s Spring 2012 Tree planting is here again!!
Where: South Philly High (Broad and Snyder parking lot)
When: Saturday April 21st 9-1pm
Gloves, coffee, and a few morning snacks will be provided to get you started, again dress accordingly
