Tree Tenders is a community based program where residents help plant and care for trees in our own communities. Become a PHS Tree Tender and join us in our efforts to beautify your neighborhood. The PHS Tree Tenders program offers hands-on tree care training for residents interested in greening their neighborhoods. Neighborhoods with more trees are safer, cooler in the summer and have healthier residents! The training covers tree biology, identification, planting, proper care, and working within your community. For more information click here. The next Tree Tenders classes will be on Wed. April 30th, May 7th and 14th from 5:45-9 at the Science Leadership Academy 55N. 22nd St. Phila. PA 19103.
Please join us for the 7th Annual Philly Clean-Up this Saturday April 5th. We will meet at the EPX Gardens at Neumann-Goretti High School at 9:00 AM. In 2013, more than 13,000 volunteers helped collect 1,014,540 pounds of trash and 23,341 pounds of recycling across the city, making it the biggest event to date! This year we will do our part and focus on 13th Street. Now is a great time for you to get involved and do your part as well to help make Philadelphia’s streets cleaner and safer. We will provide the tools, work gloves and light refreshments.
See you then!
