The vacant property at 2033 South Broad Street (image by Google Street View)

EPX neighbors – are you interested in what will be happening to the vacant property on South Broad that was formerly McDonald’s? Our neighboring RCO South Broad Street Neighborhood Association will be holding a Community Meeting Tuesday April 16, 2019 at 7:00 PM to discuss the property. The application is for a Group Medical, Dental, Health Practitioner Office in an existing attached structure.  Zoning CMX-2.5

The meeting will be held at Constitution Health Plaza 1930 South Broad Street  (NWC of McKean Street / Passyunk Avenue) Conference Center – 1st Floor. All are invited to attend.

If you are unable to attend this community meeting, the official Zoning Hearing for the property will be Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at 3:30pm

Saturday April 6th you are invited to help clean up East Passyunk Crossing. Neighbors will meet at the community garden for coffee, pastries, and instructions and then we’ll hit the streets with brooms and shovels to pick up trash around Mifflin, 7th, McKean, and 8th streets, as well as smaller streets in between. This is a family friendly event, and a great way to make an impact in your neighborhood.

January Zoning Meeting – CANCELLED

Well, it’s happened again, folks. No new applications for zoning variances this month. Everyone must be in that post-holidays hibernation mode. So, our January meeting, originally scheduled for this Wednesday, has been cancelled. See you ’round the neighborhood!

Help us provide 25 local families with a Thanksgiving Dinner

Councilman Mark Squilla’s office has generously donated 25 turkeys to help launch our campaign to provide 25 local families with a Thanksgiving dinner. We’re committed to raising $800 over the next few days to so that the families have a complete meal. Please consider donating towards our cause – any amount will help!

Each family will receive a full meal including, turkey, gravy, stuffing, mashed potatoes, shell pasta and cheese, string beans, peas, corn, candied yams, corn, cranberry sauce, apple sauce, desserts and more.

Please note that we are raising funds to purchase the items rather than asking for canned-good donations.

Every contribution counts. Please consider donating today.

EPX will be assembling the bagged meals Tuesday, November 20 from 6:00pm-7:30pm at the East Passyunk Community Center. We will be distributing the bagged meals to confirmed families from 7:30pm-9pm at the East Passyunk Community Center.

If you’re interested in volunteering in any capacity, or if you have a friend or neighbor struggling this season who could benefit from a Thanksgiving meal, please reach out to contact@epcrossing.org.

Thank you so much!
