EPX Civic – Friends of Southwark (the new Ed Committee subcommittee) is hosting a happy hour on Tuesday, June 2nd from 5 to 7 at Watkins Drinkery. We will be on the second floor, kids are welcome (EPX-FOS will provide the juice boxes!), and all draft beers are half price.

EPX Community Garden Day

Saturday, May 9th from 1-3pm

Help us celebrate the East Passyunk Crossing Community Garden‘s first ever community day. The garden will be open to the community on May 9 from 1-3 PM. Community members can come share in the peace of the garden, socialize with other members of the neighborhood, enjoy free burgers and hot dogs and help plants seeds and starters in the community plots. These plots can then be tended on future community days when the garden is open.

Come out and be a part of your neighborhood’s newest community garden and learn how you too can grow your own produce in the city!

EPX will be holding a public meeting on Tuesday, April 21st at 7PM in the Neumann-Goretti Cafeteria with Councilman Squilla, representatives from Parks and Recreation, and representatives of Tolentine Community Center to discuss the future of the Tolentine site (1025 Mifflin St) and greater public access and neighborhood involvement. Please come to this meeting with your best ideas to enhance public access (e.g., dog park, community garden, playground, etc.) to provide direction for this important publicly-owned site.
