EPX is very excited to announce our June “Meet and Greet” will be held at Le Virtu (1927 East Passyunk Avenue) Tuesday June 17th. This first summer EPX social will be held at this beautiful trattoria with cuisine from the Abruzzo region of Italy. Owners Francis Cratil Cretarola and Catherine Lee are also long term members of EPX. So take this opportunity to sit back and relax with fellow EPX-ers and share a glass of vino, or two. The event, sponsored by our membership committee, begins at 7:00 PM. The $10.00 cover includes a lovely array of appetizers and there will be a cash bar. Also, feel free to check out their full menu and wine list at www.levirtu.com!

Everyone is welcome. Please feel free to pass this onto any of your neighbors, friends, and family that may be interested in attending.

Ever wanted to throw something at EPX Co-Chair Joseph F. Marino? Who hasn’t? Well here is your chance. Joe has agreed to sit in the “dunk tank” this year at the EPA BID’s annual Flavors of the Avenue Festival. On Saturday May 3rd from 2-2:30 p.m. come to East Passyunk Avenue and put your money down, pick-up a tennis ball and have a whirl at dropping JFM into the drink! Lines will form early, I’m sure, and this is a weather permitting event. Joe doesn’t “go for a dip” if it rains and not just because he’s “all wet” already!

Friday evening November 2nd saw the rousing success of the first annual EPX Art Auction. Well over 70 people attended sipped champagne, dined on elegant hors d’oeuvres, and bid on 18 pieces of original art work. The art which was donated by talented local artists ranged from mixed-media compositions to works on tile, along with oil paintings and other graphic or photographic presentations. EPX wishes to thank all who contributed food, beverages, art and gift certificates. A power-point program ran throughout the evening which listed all the contributors as well as highlighted several milestones in the brief EPX history. The board of EPX wishes to especially thank co-chairs of the auction Kim Buckwalter and Alice Gonglewski for a job superbly done! Excelsior!
