April Newsletter

As the city has opened vaccinations to all persons over 16 years of age, EPX is looking to how we may be adapting our meetings and events as restrictions ease. In the meantime, vax up and mask up. Here is what the EPX board has been working on, and events you can look forward to.
EPX Beautification:

We Clean
Thank you to all the volunteers who came out for the citywide Spring Street Cleanup Saturday April 10th. We hope to make these community cleaning events a more regular occurrence, so stay tuned for more information.

We Green
Thank you also to the volunteers who came out Street Tree Planting Saturday April 24th for our unusually small spring tree planting – only two trees. Parks and Recreation is hiring a new tree inspector who will work exclusively with PHS and Tree Tenders for approving trees going forward. We are inviting neighbors who were denied trees for the spring to request a tree again. Please share with anyone you know who might want a tree.  We are hopeful that more trees will be approved in the Fall with this change in staffing. You can apply for a street tree at tinyurl.com/epxtree.

EPX is hosting their first plant and seed swap! Bring your starts, houseplants, saved seeds, etc. to this  FREE community event Saturday May 8th from 11am-1pm in the Neumann Goretti parking lot, 11th st entrance. Bring or take plants or both! For more information: events@epcrossing.org
EPCC News:The East Passyunk Community Recreation Center will host neighborhood favorite event Comic Book Day, Saturday May 8th from 11am-1pm. Stop by to or from the EPX Plant Swap just around the corner.
