Crossing Community Garden, right in the heart of our neighborhood at the Ss. Neumann-Goretti High School campus. We&#8217;ve been here since 2013, and our all-organic garden is pretty special because:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It&#8217;s a place where you can grow your own tasty produce, aromatic herbs, and beautiful flowers.<\/li>\n<li>Need a break from the hustle and bustle of city life? Our garden offers a peaceful oasis.<\/li>\n<li>Gardening isn&#8217;t just about plants; it&#8217;s a chance to boost your physical and mental well-being while connecting with nature.<\/li>\n<li>Plus, we&#8217;re all about supporting our local pollinators \u2013 bees, butterflies, and other helpful insects love hanging out here too!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Our garden is made up of 44 plots, each measuring 3\u2019 x 9\u2019, surrounded by lush grass walkways, charming flower beds, and a cozy communal area. It&#8217;s all thanks to the hard work of our Civic&#8217;s Clean &amp; Green Committee in partnership with the Saints Neumann-Goretti High School. Here, we&#8217;ve created a space that&#8217;s near and dear to the hearts of a diverse group of South Philly neighbors:<\/p><ul><li>Families find joy in bringing their little ones here to discover the wonders of nature and bring home fresh produce for delicious homemade meals.<\/li><li>Recent newcomers and retirees have discovered a local social hub filled with kindred spirits, making lasting friendships that go beyond the gardening season.<\/li><li>Our garden has warmly welcomed immigrants and refugees, offering them eight special garden plots right from the start. We&#8217;re all about reaching out to every corner of our neighborhood, and thanks to our partnership with SEAMAAC, we&#8217;ve connected with the vibrant Chin Burmese community. They&#8217;re growing Chin Buang (or roselle), a unique leafy vegetable that adds incredible flavor to their dishes.<\/li><li>Even the Sisters of Saint Francis and IHM, who live in the nearby convents, relish the garden&#8217;s delights.
