February’s Public Safety / Townwatch Committee meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 13th between 7:00pm and 8:00pm. The meeting will be in the Neumann room at St. Agnes Continuing Care Center (ask at front desk).

The East Passyunk Crossing Board of Directors will meet on February 12th between 6:30pm and 7:30pm. This meeting will take place at the South branch of the Free Library of Philadelphia located at 1700 Broad Street.

The next Community Relations meeting will be held on Monday, January 29th at 6:30pm. This meeting will be at the St. Agnes Continuing Care facility in the Neumann Room.

Do you like to mess around in dirt? Ever gotten a thrill out of seeing things sprout and bloom? Simply curious about how the heck Philly street trees can survive amidst all the concrete and pollution, or frankly skeptical about how it’s possible to for trees to earn you and your neighbors money?
You may have heard the phrase “tree tenders” thrown about by the Clean & Green folks and may be wondering what exactly that means. If you’re curious about how street trees survive and thrive in our urban jungle, and are interested in becoming involved in city-wide efforts to green things up, then the Tree Tenders Course run by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society may be the thing for you.
On Tuesday, January 23rd at 7pm in the Fels South Philadelphia Family Center (2407 South Broad Street) the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is holding a public hearing regarding the proposed reauthorization of the Philadelphia Water Department’s (PWD) Clean Water Act pollution permit.
