May’s Clean and Green Committee will meet on May 21st between 6:15pm and 7:30pm. This meeting will take place at The South Philadelphia Branch of the Free Library located at Broad and Morris Streets.
Initials aside, some of you may remember Councilman DiCicco mentioning grant money availability to Civic Associations, once they achieve 501 (c)(3) tax exemption status, when he visited our membership meeting in March. Well as soon as EPX was an exempt organization we began work on the grant application and thanks to the hard work of several of our members the rather vexing job of completing the application is finished. The Philadelphia Activities Fund (PAF) will hopefully provide some much-needed operating capital. In addition the required review of impending expenditures has helped us towards a more realistic working budget. Thanks to our Treasurer, Millie Ruffino, our Recording Secretary D’Arcy Webb, and Kim Ruffino for the technical/clerical assist, I couldn’t have done it without you three. Here’s “keeping our fingers crossed” that we receive the grant money early in the City’s new Councilmanic year, beginning July first.

Super day folks: congrats on our first Thing!
Felt like summer was here. Kids and dogs and babies and sugar and odds and ends. Head bands and mini-me’s, needlepoint sunglasses cases and gazpacho, plants and pots, clothes and toys and books and kitchen gear. Super swell.
