Town Watch Training

Art Potts of Town Watch Integrated Services came for two nights in June to train and certify folks for town watch in our neighborhood. Being established as an official town watch group is a necessary process towards becoming a recognized civic association in the city.

During the training sessions, Mr. Potts touched upon personal safety issues, the 911 emergency calling system, and tips about how to report crimes and other problems in the neighborhood.

Sample packets of forms for town watch reports were distributed at the meeting. Those who have completed training will receive official photo badges. As a recognized town watch organization, the association would then be eligible for city funding and free additional training programs including CPR and disaster preparedness.
